Our Daycare Center

Merrie Time Christian Preschool & Daycare is proud to be a 5-star Step Up to Quality Recipient. Step Up to Quality is a rating system that is administered by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. 5-stars is the highest rating they award.

As a 5-star daycare center in Dayton, OH, we have a staff that is highly qualified. Along with the 5 star rating, our classrooms provide a lower teacher-child ratio which means that children get more individual one-on-one attention. For these reasons, our classes fill up quickly.

We serve children from 6 weeks of age until they are ready to begin kindergarten.

Daycare classes include: Young Infants, Older Infants, Toddler 1, Toddler 2, Threes/Preschool and Pre-K (4 yrs to kindergarten). Our hours are Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. We accept Title XX and participate in the CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Education Program). We provide breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack at our daycare.

Infant Care

Learning for our littlest ones depends on the trusting relationships they develop with their caregivers. When consistently loved and cared for, these little ones are ready to learn about the world around them. Our highest priority is to establish these consistent, supportive and loving relationships with your infant.

Toddler Care

Our toddlers are divided into two age groups:

Toddler 1, which is for children aged 20 to 30 months.
Toddler 2, for those aged 30 to 36 months.

We focus on social-emotional, physical, language, cognitive, literacy, and mathematic development.

Preschool 3's

Children in our program transition to the first preschool class when they are about 3 years of age. Preschool classes are a little more structured though their work continues to be done through play. At this age they are able to do more things in small groups and enjoy sitting as a class for a story or experiment. However, a large amount of their preschool days will continue to have new concepts taught one-on-one with the teacher or in a small group with two to three other children.

Pre-Kindergarten Class

The children in our Pre-k class are gearing up for the start of elementary school. We recognize the importance of preparing each child for the years of formal schooling ahead. Our teachers take this responsibility very seriously, working with each child to move them toward that goal. While doing this, they are committed to presenting developmentally appropriate activities that help the children learn and grow, moving along the developmental continuum.
